iPocketWallet Reviews

  1. ‘Like a Glove’, ‘WOW, I just saw a bunch of people on line waiting for the 3G iPhone and some guy had this case. SOOOOOO awesome. I held it in my hands. Really good quality. So much better than Vaja, Prima, Sena and of course Belkin and Targus. It\\”s like Hartman or Tumi quality, yet a lot cheaper and fits the 3G iPhone like a GLOVE!

  3. ‘suggestions for your next iphone wallet’, ‘hi\r\nSeems like this is the best wallet for the iphone that is currently available but you can make it better by increasing its thickness by a small amount to allow for a full length extra pocket so cash can be stored in an unfolded manner, just like a real wallet. Currently the wallet is second place to it being an iphone carrier. Make such a wallet and you can sell truckloads. Consider making a female style wallet-they tend to carry huge ones for all the store and credit cards with a coin purse included and a brighter colour perhaps-yellow or pink or a white one to match the new white iphones\r\n\r\nI assume it is leather and not plastic.

It seemed like such a simple concept–combining an iPhone case with a wallet–but I could not find what I was looking for until I stumbled upon the iPocketWallet. Nice and minimalist though i would like it to be a bit wider for the currency here (or an extra full length pocket across the back for full length notes).\r\n\r\nThe value is also great-most wallets are about $5-10 more than what yours was and the quality seems to be first class.\r\n\r\nHave not yet got my iphone-it was released on Saturday but such is the interest in Singapore they are giving people appointments to pick up the phone-mine is not until the 30th August. \r\n\r\nHope you sell truckloads-will pass it round the people here and on the local forums.

  41. Owen,

Thank you for the update. I keep forgetting to email you and let you know how happy I am to have purchased your product. I searched and searched for a wallet exactly like the iPocket for my Samsung Omnia (Fits absolutely perfect and I keep the stylus in the bottom of the pouch). I found things that were close, but they were bulky. This is perfect! Some people have asked if my phone is easy and fast to draw out of the case and I have found that it is just as fast as the hip belt magnetic cases. The new version of the wallet looks great and hopefully, I will not need to replace my in the near future. Also, I have read posts about people saying that the wallet style is dumb because you cannot put it in your back pocket. If you have that issue, I would rebuttal that your wallet is 90% safer in your front pockets. Anyway, thank you for a great product and sending it so quickly.

    Sincerely,

  51. I bought the original wallet and the new second generation is superior in design and build. The addition of a deep pocket for cash is a great enhancement-it is now a proper wallet.

The only issue I have is that the pocket in which the iphone is inserted in is a bit stiff so there is not enough friction and the phone slips out when the wallet is opened. There is a danger it can completely fall out. This may change over time as the material loosens but I reckon a bit of soft thin cloth inserted into the pocket will solve this. The cleaning cloth that comes with the phone is perfect for this and it means you can also clean it on the go!

    Dealing and shipping was fast.

    [Reply]

    Owen Reply:

You can always pick up one of the {thin shells} either plastic or rubber ones to make the phone a lil more snug in the wallet. The rubber one has grip also, and will cause friction with the wallet and not come out as easily. I prefer no shell and just sliding it out into my hand, after a week or two you get used to the motion ( I have never dropped it )

I agree with Wms. I will buy this wallet when you move the iPhone to the top so it is usable inside the wallet. Who wants to pull their iPhone out of the wallet everytime they want to use it?

And when you do move it to the top, can you make sure all ports are accessible? I know… tall order.

Why not just have the iPhone on one side by itself and have all the normal wallet stuff on the other side?

Almost the perfect wallet for me… and definitely the closest to matching my needs.

This is a repeating request I have been getting and who knows there might be something brewing on the horizon with this idea. The thing is though for me – Who wants to have a wallet next to there ear while they are talking on the phone be it 1 min or 30 minutes. I really like apple’s iphone design out of the box – I dont have any clear plastic or a rubber cases on it, I like the way it feels in my hand weather i am talking / searching the web / ipod / games / etc. The ipocketwallet is a limit the clutter product, while organizing things, but ment to be used how the iphone was originally designed. I know its a good idea in theory and I do agree this product may not be for everyone, but for my needs it meets it perfectly. I am still designing, and keep a look out there is going to be another updated design.

    Wms Reply:

Owens, while the design has met your need perfectly; I believe the thought should be what is in the best interest of the consumer – and if you are getting repeat requests for the same thing, then you should come up with something to appease your customers – me too, are holding back on buying the ipocketwallet until you design something less convoluted…..

While you like the out of the box feel – your customers are saying we like the in wallet feel……!!

I’ve been searching for the right kind of wallet for my iPhone. Sena’s designs either leave the screen exposed while in the pocket and/or do not allow your finger to swipe to the edge of the screen, thus preventing some important actions (moving an icon to a different screen). I, personally, am not looking for a wallet that allows me to use the phone while walleted (ok, so that’s not a word). I’d rather have a carrier that serves as a wallet for credit cards, ID, cash, and holds/protects my iPhone. I’ve been searching for months. Nothing has come close to fulfilling my needs until I stumbled onto this product in a Google search. Although I have not yet purchased the product, I have my credit card in hand. I always check out the gallery and read the reviews thoroughly before purchasing something site-unseen. Owen, if you have plans to incorporate the suggestions of moving the iPhone slot to the front and making the screen accessible, please consider making that wallet an additional option rather than replacing the current design. I am confident that there are plenty of potential customers just like me who will look at your current design and say, “Finally! That’s JUST what I’ve been searching for!” Thanks. I’m ordering now.

Many of the other comments show how users added keychains for their house keys etc etc.

If a user wants a case where the screen is visble, buy it someplace else!
I like the feel for this allot, AND this case can be used for most other mobile phones, and not thust the iphone.

I am planning to buy a couple for my friends and family, because this will make the best gift ever

Good work Owen, and add some more branding to the case. Maby a larger circle in circle logo to brag with when you show it to your mates

I agree with them on the being able to use the phone while in the wallet. I would buy this in an instant if the screen was both visible and accessible while in the wallet…I don’t necessarily need to use the “phone” feature but texting and looking things up (even checking the time) would be GREAT. and I don’t need to have the ports accessible. But that is just personal preference :-)

  61. Great wallet! A little bulkier than I expected for a front pocket, but I used to carry phone in one pocket and wallet in the other. Now I have a free pocket for more JUNK! Thanks(I think..)

P.S. It would be nice to have a version without the money pocket, but instead a money clip on the outside, not magnetic or hinged, just a standard steel clip wrapped in leather….that would be perfect(for me), and it would add a little more strength and security for the iphone because of the “rigid backer” that would be needed for the clip to mount on……….

Just a thought, but I will definitely buy the same one again if it was my only choice in the future. Thanks again for a terrific product!

Tired of carrying a phone in one pocket and a wallet in the other, I wanted to consolidate. I’ve looked at all the iphone cases & phone wallets in the stores–none of them suited me. I found the iPocketWallet online & ordered mine on Thursday, received it on Monday.

The wallet is exactly as described. The leather is good quality and it seems to be well made. With my iPhone inside it is only about 1/4 inch longer than my old leather wallet.

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for… I’m already in the habit of carrying my wallet in my front pocket due to back problems. This is much easier to keep track of, especially on family outings, shopping etc.

  81. I had the Original Wallet and really liked it. I modified the original wallet by cutting out the center flap because I didn’t need all the exta credit card slots. I also really wanted the convenience of a thinner iPocketWallet. The one thing that made me chose to buy this new version was the added feature of a traditional sleeve to hold cash.

I must concur witht he comments about about shipping. This company has shockingly fast shipping. Each time I have ordered something, I clique on “purchase”, walk to my curbside mailbox and there is the wallet. We’re all being spoiled by this efficiency.

When I opened the box with this new version of the iPocketWallet, the first thing I noticed was the height and length dimensions are visibly larger. While I was disappointed, I suspect the larger size was necessary to accommodate the dimensions of USA cash in the new cash sleeve.

I was also slightly disappointed to see the slot that holds the iPhone was enlarged. It is now much wider than is necessary to hold an iPhone. I suspect this might be an attempt to make this new wallet compatible with a wider selection of communication devices (e.g. Blackberry, Palm).

The additional stiffness that is mentioned about doesn’t bother me. However the massive size of this wallet after I put my iPhone in it does bother me. I’m going to keep using this wallet for at least two weeks to try and get used to the bigger/bulkier size, but I am keeping my previous iPocketWallet close by just in case.

It smells great, feels good, looks awesome.

Australian notes are about 3mm longer than the pocket for the money. Hopefully after the leather breaks in the cash will fit nicer.

Prob suggest some holes for the speakers (did some myself) and prob some magnet or clip to hold the wallet closed.

I’ve been a PDA user since the nineties and the days of Palm Pilots (who remembers them !), at that time I managed to get a case which also held a credit card and I was hooked.
Since then I have been through a few of Palm’s a couple of IMate’s and a HTC all in horrible nasty cases which I modified or adapted with scalpels and adhesive Velcro.

I’ve now moved over to an iPhone and to go with it the product I have been searching for over ten years, the iPocketWallet.

Small, Hard wearing, Lots of pockets, I’m amazed on so many levels.

  89. I’m so sorry it took me so long to post my review. I know this will sound like a planted review, but it’s an honest statement. This wallet is exactly what I’ve been looking for. After I injured my back, I had to start wearing a back brace that prevented me from using my favorite iPhone holster. I tried putting the holster in my pocket, but with my wallet and the holster, it was just too much. I tried to use the holster as my wallet. I used the belt clip as a money clip to hold folded cash and two credit cards. There was a small pocket inside where I kept my ID and insurance card. It was too difficult to get to my ID/insurance cards and I was constantly afraid I would lose my money or credit cards. The iPocketWallet solved my problem 100%. I can carry MUCH more cash, MANY more credit cards, receipts/business cards, ID, insurance cards, and more. It’s a much better solution than my adapted holster, it’s smaller than the holster + wallet in my pocket (of course), and is only slightly larger than the holster itself. Once I got familiar with the best way to hold the wallet as I open it, the phone has not slid out unexpectedly yet. I absolutely love it. I found this site with the famous “Google search,” and I am so glad I did. I was apprehensive about purchasing a wallet “sight-unseen,” based solely on a picture and the video, but I could not be happier. Thanks, iPocketWallet!

Received the wallet very quikly to the UK. (approx 4-5 days).

I did a lot of research on different/similar products but pipped for this wallet instead.

The leather is REALLY good quality, it smells absolutely lovely!! – it even has 2 slots for keys!!?? – which is a bonus, as I didn’t even realise!

    A superb item, highly recommended!!

HOWEVER!!! – I am a left-handed Iphone user and I would so love the wallet ‘the other way round’ (I instinctively take out the phone with my right hand, whilst holding the wallet in the left) – its always upside down!?…..

Let me know if you do a left handed version mate, I will buy one instantly (can you make a one off!!??)

***Has a great sound to the name!! ****** lol.

Thanks again Owen, great item! Best on market and really cheap (GBP!)

  97. Hi Owen

The wallet arrived the other day. I am very impressed with the quality and softness of the leather. I know that there are people that are going to go on about how bulky the wallet is with the phone inside but it works for me, as I would usually have the wallet and phone in the same pocket anyway and it would be bulkier. Great product!

    Thanks

  99. I purchased the Ipocketwallet a few months ago when I purchased my new Samsung Omnia. My phone fits perfectly into the spot even with a plastic protective case. I have found this wallet to the best smart-phone wallet around. It also shipped rather quickly with nice packaging. I like that I can have my phone, credit cards, drivers license, and money all in one wallet. It works great.

With that said, I do think that the Ipocketwallet version 2 could still use some improvements. First of all, I am a little disappointed that the ID slot is too large and the window is too short so that important parts of the ID are cut off making it so I have to remove it if I need to show it to someone. It would have been nice if this spot had been designed to better fit the standard drivers license/ID card.
Second, I do not like that there is no stylist slot. This makes it hard for people who do not have an Iphone and use a stylist. It would have been nice if there was a place in the center where a stylist could fit.
Third, I found the money slot to be too small/short. When I have close to $100 in assorted bills I have found they all bunch together in the bill area. This could be avoided if one were to increase length of the wallet by half an inch.
Fourth, I find the name insulting to those of us who refuse to buy into the AT&T Iphone craze. While, ipocketwallet is catchy, I think the designers maybe missing an important demographic, smartphone users. I think a better name for this phone would be “smartwallet.”
Fifth, I would like to see other variations of this wallet that included two flaps (instead of one) with the phone in the middle with Velcro.

In conclusion, even with these flaws to the design, I think this wallet is one of the best around for smart phones. I would encourage you to purchase it for your phone. I have no regrets in purchasing this wallet and I look forward to purchasing future versions.

    Thanks Eric.

I am sorry you find the name insulting, it is just a name…

The wallet was originally for the iphone for about a year or so before marketing towards other phones just because they actually fit great in there also! So the ipocketwallet was name generated bc of the iphone, it just so happens thats where this all began.

Its not perfect, the ID shield seems to work fine for me as far as the date or birth, seems to be the reason why most people look at the id, but I actually come across most the time people ask to see the id anyway as far as policy they make you take it out – and with the design being a lil looser fit and also has the top grip area the grab it, its very easy to remove.

“I like that I can have my phone, credit cards, drivers license, and money all in one wallet. It works great.”

your perfect quote is the reason why ipocketwallet was born.

  101. Rec’d the wallet on 9/8, and after almost a month has exceeded my expectations for everything except the ID slot, which is loose now so the license comes out easily unless something is put behind it. Other than that, been looking for a case for my iPhone and also a new wallet (had been using a metal money clip)…couldn’t have both in the same pocket at the same time but this fixed that buy having to only purchase 1 thing.

Just saw a new wallet has come out, looking forward to seeing its design as well.

  115. I rarely write reviews, but I just got the wallet (3.0) in the mail after having ordered it just a few days prior. I’m big on minimizing what I need to carry and also streamlined accessibility. Having said that, after using money clips, then to a rubber band to secure both my money AND my cards for one pocket and then my phone in the other pocket, I was looking for something that would cure this issue. (It’s hard to look professional when you’re pulling your money from a rubber band, efficient as it may be.)

I do a lot of outdoor activities and frequent the gym often, so while I enjoyed my minimalism, throwing an unprotected iPhone, credit cards, keys and change into the pocket of a bag just didn’t feel secure enough for me. This wallet solves that issue. It keeps everything protected and in one place. I was hoping it doing the impossible and remaining an extra-slim solution-it’s still a bit bulky for a guy that used to use a rubber band/money clip-but it works well. For me, I think I would have rather have half of the wallet. That is, the pocket for the iPhone and then the vertical card slots on the same side without a bi-fold. This would cut down on the extra thickness and match the minimalism I was looking for. Ideal as that may be for me, I know that most people would rather have the bi-fold, so for what it is, this is great so far.

I’m going to test it out for a bit, though I may end up using it as a wallet and keep my phone separately unless I’m in need of tossing everything in a ruck when on the run.

  119. Owen, your iPocketWallet 3.0 lite arrived in the mail yesterday. I so appreciated the very prompt shipping! And the wallet is everything you said it would be — slim and trim, yet holds a number of cards and cash, my iPhone fit easily and is snug and safe inside the wallet, the quality and sturdiness of construction look very good. I’m so pleased to have finally found an iPhone wallet that’s really a wallet and good at what it does!

  127. I’M AMAZED! I ordered my Iwallett on Sunday evening, had an order confirmation from Owen on the Monday morning and the wallet arrived in the UK this morning (Fri). I opted for version 2.0 as I wanted the note section. Quality is brilliant and my iPhone fits in the wallet even with it’s rubber protection sleeve – just as Owen suggested in a previous review. I would also agree that the wallet does not need the phone section at the front, who wants there credit cards slapping them around the face when you answer a call? If you want a protective case for your phone go elsewhere. If you want to put your phone in a wallet with your cards and dosh then this is for you – ITS BRILLIANT! Owen don’t discontinue this version as it fits Uk bills perfectly, albeit for a Uk photocard driving licence the window section is not quite the right shape, but this is a minor point. This is a fantastic product and I will definatley be recommending it to my friends and family.

For those that think it should be designed different with the phone in front, etc…… heck— the thing is only $45—- but this model now and use it and maybe in a year or two they will have something different—- and you’ll most likely be using a different phone by then anyways….

Great looking product– can’t wait to get it and do a full review!

I work in outside sales and have meetings throughout the day, where I am running around from office to office with tons of materials.

  133. Not only a great product, but a great guy to do business with. I received the 3.0 version for Christmas and after trying it out, decided the 2.0 version with the money sleeve would work better for me. Owen waived the restocking fee and my replacement arrived lightning fast after I returned the original.

Unfortunately, there was a slight defect in the replacement’s stitching – nothing major, purely cosmetic. I emailed Owen a couple of pics and within an hour or two he emailed me back agreeing that it wasn’t acceptable and that he’d send me out a new one today – and to keep the old one for my troubles!

I challenge anyone to find a company that stands behind their product and offers better customer service than Owen. My phone and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks!

  135. I had been looking for a wallet for my iPhone with just the very configuration of this wallet. I purchased and was very pleased with the first version of the wallet. Since then, I have upgraded successively to all three versions of this wallet, and I have been pleased with each one. Each has been a good refinement of the previous wallet, improving on the size and quality of the leather. The wallets wear well, and always invoke comments from people when they are surprised that my iPhone is IN my wallet!

On each purchase of the wallet, Owen has shipped it extremely quickly, and has personally followed up with me about how I like the wallet.

I would absolutely encourage anyone to purchase this wallet. Wallets are very personal in terms of what an individual is looking for, and how they want to use the wallet. If this style wallet is something you think would work for you, don’t hesitate for one minute in making your purchase. You will not be disappointed.

  137. I’m one of those people who love the idea of minimal items on the go. 3 keys and a AAA Fenix on the ring, a wallet and that’s it. For a short time there was an imported case that fit the bill of case/wallet. This did not last when I determined the iphone was just too slippery and a fingerprint nightmare. A very thin Innocase and PowerSupport matte screen cover made the phone a pleasure to hold and eliminated constant cleaning. It also solved my distaste for Apple’s recent ‘Shiny’ fetish or what ever you’d like to call it. I know I’m not alone in this opinion ;)

For months I checked on any new developments in the iphone wallet category, but all seemed to require a naked phone, not to mention dealing with a clip or some other pretentious design.

I can’t remember how I linked to this site, but after reading the feedback and Owen’s comments I took a chance on the 3.0. It’s perfect in every respect for my needs. My thin cased phone is only slightly snug the first day. The soft leather will easily break in and ease with use.

For the curious, I use 3 of the card slots on the left, some cash in the second opening and another plastic card and paper card under that.
For now I have my drivers license over the phone.
I measure around 1 1/8 or 30mm thickness today, and I’ll guess this will relax to 1 inch after some handling. The card flap almost closes now, so I have every reason to believe it will close all the way once the spine and corners break in.

    Outstanding – Thank You Owen

  139. Finally got the wallet, had some complications in it arriving, but tracking resolved those issues! The wallet is just as you would imagine from pix. Works great, looks great, made very well! If you have been looking for such a solution, I see no better options at this time.

I made a slight modification to mine. I use earphones with mic most of the time and am always on the phone, so I put a 1/2 inch slit in the leather just where the headphone jack goes. This allows me to keep the headphones plugged in while I take the phone in and out of the wallet. It looks a little less clean but does not effect the hold of the phone in the wallet. Thanks!!

I like the slimness of the iPhone in my pocket. I am hoping this will compress more over time. But still nice with my phone in one pocket and my wallet in the other. In general I would recommend it.

  153. Well, I’ve had my ipocket wallet for a month or so now and I really love this thing! Life is much easier having one thing to carry now.

Holds everything I need, cash , credit cards, license, phone, etc.

After it breaks in it’s even nicer.

Well built and I get plenty of compliments on it… people think it’s really cool—- which it is!
    ___________________

Okay.. now for my wish list of features I would like to see:

First and most important— a hole cutout so the iphone can be charged while still in the iwallet. I charge on the road and it would be nice to leave it in the case.

Second— on part where you put your license – I also keep insurance info in the pocket underneath. Items feel pretty loose on that side– would be nice to have a security flap to hold them in place.

Third— a possible option for a window where the phone goes— so you could look thru from the outside (wallet folded) and see who was calling without removing the phone.
    ________________

Other than that– I really like this thing!

    Nice job!

  157. Awesome product! If what you are looking for is a wallet that also holds your phone, this is it. Would happily buy again.

As someone who typically buys Coach leather products, my standards were high and I was a bit hesitant to pull the trigger on a private label. Overall quality has been fantastic and I’m extremely satisfied.

I literally spent hours reading reviews and poring over every offering on the market for a droid case. Everything else seemed more focused on being a stand alone case for just the phone and not a phone and wallet combo like this one. The big difference to me was that a case alone added bulk to the phone and I still had to carry my wallet. This makes the total package of phone and wallet smaller and easier to manage than carrying them separately.

Only tweaks I could possibly want would possibly be a couple small punch-outs in the wallet for headphones and charger access? Possibly small elastic loop on the thick (phone) side where a fisher space pen could ride and not add additional bulk to the package (only thing I miss about a previous Fisher space pen wallet was the built in pen slot).

Thanks again for an awesome product! Kind of wish I’d bought two now just to have a back-up!

  161. I recently upgraded to a Motorola Droid and had purchased a black plastic case along with it. I wanted to leave the plastic case on and purchase a thin leather case for added protection.

I watched the YouTube Video and emailed Owen with a picture of the plastic case. He reassured it would fit. I placed the order and received it across the USA in 3 days.

Yippeeee my Droid, along with the plastic case, slide in the wallet. It is snug, but I can pull the phone in and out without any struggle. The leather should form in a few days.

The wallet is nicely made, stitched well and smells good. Extra slots for extra things. No it does not have open slots for accessories. I had read some reviewers had cut the leather for access. But this is a wallet and is to be used for storage and protection.

Thanks, I had been wrapping my phone in a cloth.

Not to mention the number of times I inadvertently forgot one or the other on the table leaving the house. After quite a long time of searching for a wallet for an iPhone online and in many stores I came across the iPocket wallet. Being skeptical at first especially after seeing the quality of wallets out there not to mention the gaudy leather look I did not know what to expect. When I opened the package I was immediatly relieved to find a very nice and sporty wallet with the nice smell of real leather. I wanted to post right away ,but I needed to give it some time to test the quality of the wallet. Im pretty tough on wallets for some reason or maybe the wallets i’ve had were just crap. I never overstuff or throw around I just use normally. I had a Tumi before this that just fell apart within a few months. I am pleased to say after a month of owning this wallet there are no signs of threads comming loose or leather tearing. So far so good and the best part is I never forget one or the other anymore.

Got my Ipocket wallet after seeing a work colleague with one, and I really like it, Its just as bulky as my previous iphone cover but at least I can carry around my bank cards and some money without having to carry a wallet as well. One thing I would like is a hole for the headphone socket so I can listen to music without having to take the phone out of the cover-It should be easy to fix and would be a small but great improvement for the next version. By the way its a wallet not a purse, purses are for coins!!!!

The stitching is perfectly symmetrical with the smart design of the high quality leather components. The leather is really nice and smells good too. The felt lined phone pocket with an expanding gusset show attention to detail, and make for an impressive and well thought out way to consolidate a phone case and wallet into a very useful personal accessory. I’m smitten. Thanks iPocketWallet for a great product, fast delivery, and super follow up.

  175. I’ve had my pocketwallet 3.0 for several months now, and it’s by far the best wallet I’ve ever owned! Took 11 days to ship to Canada (acceptable), and a few more days until it flexed into proper shape. I almost gave up on an iphone wallet, as most were too simple or required you to use the iphone while it’s still in the wallet. I like the feel of the iphone and didn’t want a silly sleeve for the thing… just a convenient place to store it (and this wallet is certainly that).

  177. I usually buy cheap wallets and keep them for years. I really stepped out of my comfort zone to buy this one. Not only that, I also bought the wallet for an HTC Droid Incredible which is a pretty tall phone so I was also worried it would not fit. I e-mailed the link for support on the site and received a very quickly response from the staff (or owner) and was assured that if my phone did not fit he would refund my money and pay to ship it back.

When I first got the wallet I had to force my phone into the pocket of the wallet. It was extremely tight and awkward to get in. I was ready to ship the wallet back when I remembered that I read somewhere that the wallet would stretch a little after use. I kept my phone in the wallet and used it for a day. The next day I had still had a slight struggle to get my phone in and out of the pocket quickly after it would ring or when I heard a notification. I had to pinch the corner of my phone a litter harder than I wanted to in order to pull it out of the pocket. Now three days later my Droid Incredible is fitting more and more comfortably. I wish it was not quite so tight still, but I can already pull the phone in and out with relative ease and I am sure it will only get easier in time.

I would definitely buy this product again.

  187. I rarely post reviews, but recently received the iWallet and have to say it does exceed the expectations I had when I ordered it. It is well made. I have a iPhone 4 and the fit in the pocket for the phone is perfect. If there was one improvement that I could see being made is if the outside cover was maybe 1/4 inch longer/tall. Currently it is almost perfectly the size of the length of the iPhone. If the outside cover were slightly larger it may provide a bit more protection to the top and bottom of the phone.

I just received the wallet for my iPhone 4 and it fits with the bumper case. It was tight at first, but after a day it stretched and fits good. I just thought I’d let you know just in case you wanted to let customers know it will work.

  209. Arrived today, thanks very much. First impressions – I like the smell of the leather! Looks nice, feels quality and is compact. Nice brand embossing inside – gives a further impression of quality. I kind of expected it to be thick with the iPhone in but still a little surprised, but that’s not a criticism and it’s fine in the pocket. OTOH, probably a more snug fit if the iPhone has some kind of cover, but not a problem as it folds up securely and can’t fall out.

In practice works well. The phone rang in my jeans pocket while driving and I managed to pull over, fish it out and answer within two or three rings, so really no problem there. And it makes a fine wallet if you’re not taking the phone with you (because your daughter is playing games on it!).

Very happy with the iPocketWallet – it’s just what I’ve been after.

  215. Very nice case. It arrived in about four days, not bad coast to coast. The first thing I noticed was the great smell of good leather. The second thing I noticed was how soft the wallet was and how well constructed it was. I am very happy with it. The only suggestion would be to flip the credit card openings 180 degrees, thereby making it more friendly to right handers by allowing you to use your right hand to remove/replace the phone and credit cards with your right hand.

  219. I received this product today and I have to say that it is better quality than I expected. The quality of the leather is great and it fits my device (Motorola Droid – No case) perfectly.

I moved to this product because I had a Seido Innocase, which worked great with the clip holster, but eventually after sliding the phone open so much, the little tabs that hold the case on wore down to the point where they were brittle. I imagine they either slide against eachother or the inside of the phone and wear down over time. I hadn’t even had my case a year.

After having my phone in my pocket for a long while with no case, I came across this site and decided to try it out. Works great for my purposes. Thank you!

The idea and the wallet character is unpayable. But… Perfect fit isn’t the right term if u are using an iPhone 4. It fit’s – okay – but it looks a little bit ugly.

Over all i would buy an iPocket Wallet again, because carrying my iPhone and my cards togehter has no alternative solution on market for iPhone cases. And the pricing is ok for me.

I like to carry cash (and spare key) and I would like not to have to pull out all the cash just to grab a bill and show everyone how much cash I am carrying. If you definitely will not bring this feature back, I’d hate to get another wallet from someone else. Thanks!

Here you need a card for everything + ID, driving licence and tax-health cards have to be with you all the time so… could do with a few more card slots.

  249. Interested in getting one, but one thing bothers me and wondering how users felt about it. When the phone rings, I would like to be able to open the wallet and see who is calling without taking the phone out. It seems that a slimmer version could be designed to hold only the phone on the left, not in a pocket. That way you could open the wallet and immediately see who is calling. Additionally, you can grab that quick photo without taking the phone out (assuming there is a hole on the back of the cover). It would also make it easier to plug in the headphones and listen to music. I just can’t seem to find a wallet that does this, while having room for credit cards, license, cash, etc.

  251. I researched a lot before deciding on a protective cover for my new iphone 4s. I want to carry it in my front pocket and not get scratched by keys and coins but all of the cases I found were ugly and heavy. I stumbled onto this one and realized that I could carry my ID and credit cards with me in the same wallet as my phone and leave my bulky hip pocket wallet at home for 90% of my needs. I ordered it and received it a lot faster than expected. I absolutely love it. The leather is top quality and softened in just a few days. It is quick to retrieve the phone and keeps it as safe and secure as my credit cards in my front pocket where it won’t get banged around or left behind. My wife loved it so much I just ordered another one for her to keep in her purse so she has the essential elements all in one spot without searching through her purse for credit cards and ID. This is a great concept well executed.

My only suggestion is to open a small port under the bottom right phone speaker to increase the volume of the ringer while in the wallet inside a pocket or purse. The vibrate function was my first clue when the phone was ringing when in a noisy environment. I just drilled out two small holes in the leather under the right side speaker where the ring tone comes from and tested it in my pocket. The ringer volume was substantially increased with only a minor alteration. TIP: The old style phone ringer option seems to be the loudest and easiest ring tone to hear while in the pocket. I would highly recommend this as the single best way to carry an expensive cell phone in either a pocket or a purse.

  253. For those like the earlier reviewer who worry about getting to the phone quickly enough- it only takes a second to pull out the wallet and the phone once the leather is softened. Putting the wallet safely back into the pocket while unlocking the phone with the other hand is just as simple simple and quick for those worrying about security. You just have to try it before you realize how simple it is. It is actually quicker and safer than the belt side carrier I used to use on my last phone and doesn’t get caught on door handles and corners. For those who want to use their phone while in a wallet to text or listen to music there are lots of ugly wallets with the phone exposed when you unfold the wallet but I personally don’t want to hold a wallet to my ear to answer the phone with my ID and credit cards exposed.

Would like a bigger version of the wallet so my question is: is the ipocketwallet 5 any bigger than previous versions? If it’s not then will you be producing a bigger version? I think the wallets are great but not if you’re trying to shove a phone in that’s too big. My iphone 5 is so tight it presses the power button down & thats on a well worn in soft old case.

    Steve,

    Fantastic question.

I think this is what most existing iPocketWallet customers are thinking and I am glad it’s coming from you and not me.

    Let me explain…

The wallet is slightly larger the the previous version, we took this into account when ordering for the future iPhone 5. It’s still fits the previous versions phones, but it just big enough to fit the new iPhone 5.

You are right, the iPhone 5 is SNUG, even with the iPocketWallet 5th Gen.

But.. that is only initially when you first unwrap your new wallet from getting it in the mail. Once you use the wallet for about a week the leather loosens up and conforms to the phone. That SNUG feeling no longer exist and the wallet slides in and out with ease.

    ————– NOTE ON website
NOTE: In time, the leather will soften, become supple, lay nice and flat and soon hug all your wallet items. This is normal for most quality leather wallets. The wallet will usually conform within a week of normal use and any of that ‘new leather bulky feel’ will disappear. It will soon feel as comfortable as an old shoe.
    ——————–

This is very true, and I experienced it myself since my iPhone5 came in the mail September 21st. It only took 2 days for it to feel like an old shoe. But I like to play with my iPhone5 probably more then others!

    Steve,

Email me your address and I will ship you a new iPocketWallet 5.

Once the wallet arrives and you used it for a week or so, comment back on here for a review from an unbiased existing customer review.

    Thanks,
    -Owen

OK, so I now have the new iPocketWallet 5 for my iPhone 5. It is indeed bigger than the version 4 wallet I had before (about 5-6mm longer) and fits the iPhone 5 very well even when new. As the leather softens i’m sure it’ll be even better.
Other differences from the old one are double stitching on all the seams, never had a problem with seams coming apart on my old very well worn wallet, but can only be a good thing. The ID window is bigger which is better for my work ID as all the info is now on show. The leather is definitely softer / better quality than before as well, not sure but it’s probably thinner too, maybe that’s why they’ve gone for the double stitching?
For me this is definitely the best thing out there. The only way I’ll be buying anything different is if iPocketWallet produce a version with a full sized money pocket around the outside. I never had one but I believe the first version was like this but changed because many people thought it was too bulky? I think now with the new leather and the iphone itself being thiner/lighter this would work very well.

Actually I can jam it in there but that is not what I consider a good fit. When I first order my iPhone 5, I checked out the dimensions online and it did not appear that the iPocketWallet 5 would accommodate it. I read some comments about a snug fit and I’m concerned about the fit being too snug and have some concerns and reservations. Are there any plans to create a larger wallet?

The leather is super sturdy and stitched perfectly. 4 Credit Card slots, two pockets for bills and receipts separate. a dedicated drivers license slot an extra pocket just in case and room for the iPhone 5. My iPhone 5 fits snugly into its pouch and over time the leather will stretch just enough to fit the iPhone 5 a little looser. 283. Is the 5x different from the 5? Seems like i just recently saw a different website – video – etc.

    Thanks

Yes, the 5X is taller, reinforced single stitched with slightly thicket thread, and smoother leather – but everything else is the same. We designed this wallet to fit better with the iPhone 5
